The Graduate Student Symposium is held on the day before the AFEA annual conference.
The one-day symposium is divided into two workshops (literature and civilization), comprising both student presentations and lectures on methodology. At the end of the day the two workshops join to discuss the institutional side of doctoral studies: the job market in academia; the national public certification procedure (CNU); scholarships at home and in the United States; other sources of financing.
Doctoral candidates are then invited by the AFEA to remain to attend the conference.
Directors:
– Hélène
Aji and François Specq for Literature
– Donna
