Quelles sont les images insoup\u00e7onn\u00e9es qui s\u2019y discernent par-del\u00e0 le cadre conventionnel d\u2019une perspective norm\u00e9e\u00a0? Dans la courbure du miroir, on est tent\u00e9 de rep\u00e9rer les formes connues et d\u2019en restaurer la g\u00e9om\u00e9trie famili\u00e8re. Plus complexe est la d\u00e9marche, commune aux textes de ce recueil,\u00a0qui consiste \u00e0 traquer le suppl\u00e9ment de connaissance et de vision que le po\u00e8me au miroir convexe permet d\u2019inclure \u2013\u00a0ce hors-cadre po\u00e9tique qui ne doit pas rester rel\u00e9gu\u00e9 dans le non-vu, le non-dit, le non-lu. La tentation r\u00e9v\u00e9latoire donne lieu, chez John Ashbery, \u00e0 une po\u00e9sie dont la difficult\u00e9 tient \u00e0 sa volont\u00e9 d\u2019embrassement total d\u2019un r\u00e9el contre-intuitif. Ses po\u00e8mes se donnent tous \u00e0 lire au miroir convexe, tangentiel et d\u00e9viant, dans la courbure d\u2019un espace-temps qui est autant celui de la science que celui, oc\u00e9anique, des \u00ab\u00a0dangereux r\u00eaves de la mer\u00a0\u00bb.<br><br><strong>Les auteurs<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Les directeurs du volume<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>H\u00e9l\u00e8ne A<small>JI<\/small><\/strong> est professeur de litt\u00e9rature am\u00e9ricaine, directrice du Centre d\u2019\u00e9tudes anglophones (CREA, universit\u00e9 Paris Nanterre), d\u00e9l\u00e9gu\u00e9e \u00e9lue \u00e0 la Modern Language Association en charge des chercheurs hors \u00c9tats-Unis et Canada et pr\u00e9sidente de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u2019\u00e9tudes modernistes (SEM). Elle est l\u2019auteur de plusieurs articles sur la po\u00e9sie am\u00e9ricaine moderniste et contemporaine, ainsi que de trois ouvrages : <em>Ezra Pound et William CarlosWilliams. Pour une po\u00e9tique am\u00e9ricaine <\/em>(L\u2019Harmattan, 2001), <em>William CarlosWilliams. Un plan d\u2019action <\/em>(Belin, 2004) et <em>Ford Madox Ford\u2019s The GoodSoldier <\/em>(Armand Colin, 2005). \u00c0 Nanterre, elle copilote le projet de recherche \u00ab Literature Matters \u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Agn\u00e8s D<small>ERAIL<\/small><\/strong> est ma\u00eetre de conf\u00e9rences \u00e0 l\u2019ENS et membre de l\u2019\u00e9quipe VALE \u00e0 Sorbonne Universit\u00e9. Elle a publi\u00e9 plusieurs \u00e9tudes sur la litt\u00e9rature am\u00e9ricaine du long xix<sup>e<\/sup>si\u00e8cle. Auteure de <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.presses.ens.fr\/collections_21_offshore_moby-dick-_2-7288-0248-3.html\">Moby Dick. Elle a codirig\u00e9 <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.presses.ens.fr\/470-versions-francaises-puritains-d-amerique.html\">Puritains d\u2019Am\u00e9rique, prestige et d\u00e9clin d\u2019une th\u00e9ocratie<\/a> <\/em>(Rue d\u2019Ulm, 2016).
